Breadin’ is a fictitious mobile app that strives to provide young adults and teenagers with tips and tricks to combat the struggle of transitioning into adulthood.
In life, we’ve always been guided by our parents and learn skills from them subconsciously. However, there are certain Adulting skills we don’t get educated on. This includes topics such as budgeting and associated cost of living.
There have never been official Adulting classes in schools, and the transition into adulthood is a grueling process to go through without guidance.
Thus, we plan for this application to motivate youths to learn new adulting skills and put them into practice. This would increase the confidence of our target audience in their adulting skills, making the transition to adulthood less daunting.
With this problem statement, we interview our intended target audience, getting their insights and experiences transitioning into adulthood. We also decided to interview adults not in our intended age range to get an idea what they wish could have gone better when they are learning how to adapt to adulthood.
We also looked into competing apps to compare and reference, and how we could give our app an advantage over our competitors while successfully meeting the needs of our users.

After obtaining the data, we construct task flow diagrams outlining how different users might achieve their objectives.
With the diagrams completed, we built a style guide and began prototyping the app with the diagrams in mind.
After we completed the high-fidelity prototype, we gathered some of our survey respondents and conducted usability testing with them to get feedback on Breadin', such as if the app is intuitive enough for them to complete their tasks without difficulty.

In my team of 5, I am mainly in charge of the high fidelity prototype of Breadin' and its style guide, and I provide support to my team by aiding in the UI/UX process (surveys, interviews, etc.) and the documentation as well.
Below are some of the mockup screens for Breadin. If you would like to view the full prototype itself, click here.
